IK Nord was one of 104 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Göteborg Cup Handboll 2020. They participated with one team in Herr Senior (Div 2 och lägre).

In addition to IK Nord, 16 other teams played in Herr Senior (Div 2 och lägre). They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof IK Nord could be found in Group B together with Sannadals SK, Torslanda HK and GF Kroppskultur.

IK Nord continued to Slutspel B after reaching 4:th place in Group B. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Huddinge Handbollklubb H2 with 15-16. In the Final, H43 Lund HF won over Stenungsunds HK and became the winner of Slutspel B in Herr Senior (Div 2 och lägre).

IK Nord also participated in Herr Senior (Div 2 och lägre) during Göteborg Cup Handboll 2019. They reached the Semi final in HS Slutspel B, but lost it against Stenungsunds HK with 19-20.

Nord comes from Göteborg which lies approximately 4 km from Västra Frölunda, where Göteborg Cup Handboll takes place. The area around Göteborg does also provide 25 additional clubs participating during Göteborg Cup Handboll 2020 (Among others: IK Sävehof, Partille if, Önnerediterna, ÖIS Handboll, Kungälvs HK, Redbergslids IK, Särökometernas HK, IK Baltichov, HK Aranäs and Bollebygds AFF).
